Gamethread: White Sox at Mariners
The worst offense in the bigs travels to the Pacific Northwest to face the best starting staff in baseball
Happy Monday (ha ha, I know) Sox fans! Your Chicago White Sox pay a visit to the Pacific Northwest for a four-game set against AL West-leading Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park. The M’s return home after a 3-3 road trip, dropping their last series against those pesky Kansas City Royals, while the Pale Hose actually won a series for a change, taking two of three from the Boston Red Sox on the South Side.
Seattle’s starting staff is one of if not the best in baseball so far in 2024. They lead all of baseball in quality starts. The White Sox starting staff? Not so much.

A bit of housekeeping before we get to the lineups:
C Max Stassi underwent a season-ending left hip surfacing procedure on Friday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Max Stassi, we hardly knew ye. Nothing makes a GM look better or brighter than trading for a guy who never once played for your team ...
A few injury updates:
OFs Andrew Benintendi and Tommy Pham have been sent to the ACL White Sox on injury rehab assignments.

Maybe just leave them there? Can we do that? Pretty please?!
Ugh.
