Officer injured in Whitehall pursuit

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) -- A police pursuit in Whitehall resulted in an officer suffering a minor injury when they were dragged by the car Monday.

According to Whitehall Chief of Police Mike Crispen, the incident started as a traffic stop in the area of North Country Club Road after the city's Flock camera system flagged the vehicle as being connected to an arrest warrant.

The driver tried to flee the scene, dragging the officer a short distance, Crispen said.

Again using the Flock system, the car was located on nearby Dimson Drive, where the driver and a passenger in the car were found. After a short foot chase, the driver was arrested, Crispen said.

Crispen said the driver, who has not been named, was wanted on warrants out of Dublin.
