Albany County legislature working to improve housing crisis

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Legislature has organized a team to implement ways to help the local housing crisis. They're called The Housing Work Group, and they consist of county legislators whose districts are impacted by lack of affordable housing and high rates of eviction among other issues.

The group is also looking to strengthen the EPIC program, which is the Eviction Prevention Intervention Collaborative. Over $300,000 has been allocated toward the program.

Officials said this is the first step toward encouraging a multi-faceted plan to address the housing crisis in Albany County.
