Metal fabrication company catches fire in north Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - An electrical machine fire was extinguished in north Topeka on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters with the Topeka Fire Department (TFD) were called just after 1:30 p.m. on June 10 to a fire at Midwestern Metals, a metal fabrication and sales company, located at 1105-C NW Lower Silver Lake Road. Fire crews arriving at the scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from a machine inside the building.

The TFD was able to quickly extinguish the fire and the business was evacuated with no reported injuries. The total estimated loss from the fire was $10,000.
