Olivia Wilde & Jason Sudeikis’ Latest Outing Proves Their Co-Parenting Game Is Strong After an 18-Month Legal Battle
Body language can speak volumes, and so we were excited to see Jason Sudeikis and ex-fiancé Olivia Wilde’s latest meet-up in Los Angeles. The Daily Mail reported that the former couple “amicably reunited” for their children, 10-year-old son Otis and 7-year-old daughter Daisy. And while a hug and a smile might not sound like much, it can be a huge deal for co-parents to get to that point, and it’s huge for kids to see that their parents can at least be kind toward each other.
While it’s not totally clear, it seems like the two were meeting up before one of Daisy’s sporting events. Perhaps they even watched it together the way Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner constantly watch their son Samuel’s basketball games together.
This sighting comes nearly a year after the estranged couple settled their 18-month legal battle over custody and child support payments for the kids. In September, Sudeikis agreed to pay $27.5 thousand each month in child support along with 25 percent of childcare expenses. So yes, the Ted Lasso star pays well over $330 thousand each year. (And that’s tame compared to some other celebrities!) Perhaps that’s no biggie when you consider the fact that, per Celebrity Net Worth, he earned $400 thousand per episode in the first and second seasons of Ted Lasso — and his salary only increased from there.
Oh, to be an A-lister!
In 2020, after being together for around nine years and engaged for seven, Sudeikis and Wilde called it quits. Soon after, cheating allegations started circulating, alleging that Wilde cheated on Sudeikis with singer Harry Styles. Though their breakup thrust them into the spotlight (even more than usual), Sudeikis and the Don’t Worry Darling star have done their best to keep their kids’ lives private — only sharing the occasional tidbit.
Earlier this year, Wilde gave an update on her “cool” kids.
“They’re so great. They’re huge and they’re so healthy and happy,” the actress told PEOPLE. “I already feel like they’re giant teenagers, but we’re having a lot of fun. They’re my best friends.”
And the more her “best friends” can see their mom and dad being at least friendly, the better. Nicely done, Wilde and Sudeikis. *Tips hat*
