Furious Love Island fans call out bombshell Omar for ‘rule break’ with career
LOVE Island fans have questioned how the latest bombshell has managed to get time off teaching to do the show.
Last week saw hunky PE teacher Omar enter the villa – but viewers are moaning they can’t even take their kids on holiday during term time without getting in trouble.
One person commented: “Can’t take my Daughter on holiday without being fined BUT a PE teacher can go on Love Island.”
Another person wrote: “Ermmmmmm hold on sunny Jim….. Teacher is having time off for a bit of Love Island but I’ve got an attendance officer patronising me because I’m not willing to pay an extra £2k on a holiday in the summer break. Make it make sense. Fine him and his parents.”
“PE TEACHER??? I hope he’s getting fined for going on holiday out of school term,” added another.
While someone else said: “So parents can’t take their kids on holiday during term but a teacher can go on Love Island.”
Others were quick to defend him and point out that he could be a qualified PE teacher, who just isn’t currently working.
In the past other teachers who have done the show have been granted permission from their schools to look for love on TV.
Other teachers to appear on the show include Kai Fagan, who won, and Hugo Hammond.
From August this year, the fine for absences will up to the school to consider – when a child has missed 10 or more sessions for unauthorised reasons.
And the fine will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days – this is issued to EACH parent.
Omar entered the villa with a bang last week when he took Mimii Ngulube on a date – just moments after she nearly lost her place.
Despite his attentions Mimi made it clear she was still set on Ayo, but his head has been turned by another bombshell, Uma Jammeh.
What school fines can parents receive?
THE main issue that can lead to parents receiving a fine is missing school.
Currently, it’s the decision of the local council whether or not to issue a parent a fine for their child missing school.
However, from August this year, the fine for absences will up to the school to consider – when a child has missed 10 or more sessions for unauthorised reasons.
And the fine will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days – this is issued to EACH parent.
It’s the first time the fine has been increased since 2012, and is in line with inflation.
If a parent receives a second fine for the same child within three years, this will automatically be charged at the higher rate of £160.
Fines will be capped at two fines within a three-year period.
After this limit has been reached, prosecution or a parenting order may be considered.
According to the official government website, there are only five reasons your child should be absent from school if the school is open.
These are as follows:
- Your child is too ill to attend that day
- You have asked in advance and been given permission by the school for your child to be absent on that day due to exceptional circumstances
- Your child cannot attend school on that day because it is a day you are taking part in religious observance
- Your local authority is responsible for arranging your child’s transport to school and it is not available on that day or has not been provided yet
- You are a gypsy/traveller family with no fixed abode, and you are required to travel for work that day meaning your child cannot attend their usual school
And last night, things took a dramatic turn when Ayo decided to snog Uma infront of the other islanders.
The model was asked to kiss who was “100 per cent his type on paper” – and had no issues locking lips with Uma, despite still insisting he was keen on exploring things with Mimii.
