Campbell Avenue construction underway in Troy
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Multiple construction projects on Campbell Avenue in Troy began on Monday morning. The road work is expected to continue for the next several weeks.
The work will involve a plethora of improvements, including sidewalk installation and accessibility upgrades, as well as milling, paving, curbing and striping. Campbell Avenue will be closed from Donegal Avenue to Sherman Avenue with posted detours while construction is underway.
"Nothing pained me more than seeing residents and folks walking and traveling in wheelchairs in the roadway due to no sidewalks on Campbell Ave. This corridor is one of the busiest roadways in our city and was in desperate need of a complete and comprehensive overhaul," Mayor Mantello said. "Continuing to make our neighborhoods safer and walkable is a huge priority for our city, and my administration will continue working to make our city safer and accessible block by block. The construction period will be challenging but worth it in the long run and we ask for the patience of residents and motorists during this critical infrastructure project."
