1. Dornoch pulls off an upset to win the first Belmont Stakes run at Saratoga Race Course at 17-1
The horse co-owned by World Series champion Jayson Werth won the Belmont five weeks after a troubled trip led to a 10th-place finish in the Kentucky Derby. This time, Dornoch sat off leader Seize the Grey, passed the Preakness winner down the stretch and held on for a half-length victory.
2. Crash on I-90 closes lane westbound before Exit 10 in Schodack
A crash on I-90 westbound has closed one left lane of four before Exit 10 on Miller Road in Schodack. Drivers in the area should expect delays.
3. Bones found under Bennington home not human
A medical examiner determined the bones found underneath a historic home in Bennington are not human. They were discovered by contractors on Monday during a home renovation project.
4. 100 years of the American Heart Association
Monday marked 100 years since the American Heart Association was founded in 1924. They are the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
