Beloved BBC Breakfast star returns to screens – after co-star was forced to confirm they hadn’t quit to worried fans
A BELOVED BBC Breakfast star made her on screen return after worrying fans she had quit the show.
Sally Nugent was back on the iconic red sofa alongside Jon Kay for this morning’s show.
The pair kicked off a brand new week as they brought viewers the latest news from around the world.
Sally’s return comes after she missed an entire week of BBC Breakfast to anchor the Beeb’s brand new News at One bulletin.
It prompted worried fans to ask if her new role meant she would be departing the show.
One said: “Oh has Sally left Breakfast?”
A second wrote: “Good use of the BBC breakfast sofa! Will miss @sallynugent on breakfast.”
“Most excellent but does this disrupt my early morning viewing when I expect to see you and @sallynugent on the sofa,” questioned a third.
Quickly responding to concerns, Sally’s co-host Jon Kay assured fans she’s not going anywhere.
He simply said: “Nooooooooo!!!!!”
It was previously announced how BBC Breakfast stars would host the News at One bulletin on rotation following its shakeup.
Jon, Sally and Nina Warhurst will all front the new hour-long show from its new home in Manchester.
