Gamethread: Red Sox vs White Sox
Battle of the Sox continues at The Rate
Happy Sunday Sox fans, it’s a beautiful day to win a series. The 32-33 Boston Red Sox and 17-48 Chicago White Sox will face off for the series finale, and the South Siders will have a chance to actually win the series with a win today. Zack Kelly and Chris Flexen will face off, but first let’s go over some pregame moves.
It was a busy morning, as the team made some roster changes.

Nick Nastrini will return to Triple-A Charlotte, Sammy Peralta will come back up, and Shane Drohan was designated for assignment, after being lifted from the IL. Drohan was a Rule 5 for the White Sox last December but had arm problems keeping him injured. He was very promising, but looks like a situation where time ran out.
But, in even bigger news ...
Pedro Grifol said the plan is for Drew Thorpe to make his major league debut and start on Tuesday

Although it’s not official yet, Drew Thorpe is set to be called up and start on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.
Also, Edgar Quero is another player to keep an eye on.
I think White Sox prospect Edgar Quero is heating up in June.

.556/.613/.852 in 31 PAs.
He turned 21 in April. One of the youngest players in AA.
The Red Sox will have a bullpen day, and Kelly will start it off. He has pitched in 13 games this season for the Red Sox and has a 2.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He was in the game yesterday as well — for one out. Flexen is appearing in his 14th game and has a 5.19 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. His last outing was cut short due to the rain delay vs. the Chicago Cubs earlier this week. He was looking great early on, but started to fall apart after the rain. He went five innings with three hits, one run, and four strikeouts.

Corey Julks will lead it off, followed by Nicky Lopez and Luis Robert Jr. Gavin Sheets is back in the lineup after his GRAND day yesterday, and Andrew Vaughn and Paul DeJong will follow. Oscar Colás, Lenyn Sosa, and unfortunately Martín Maldonado will close it out. Come quick, Edgar Quero.
