Man reportedly throws debris, shoots at police officers in San Jose
SAN JOSE — Police arrested a suspect Sunday about 10 a.m., after neighbors on Warring Drive and Calmor Avenue made an emergency call reporting a man who barricaded himself inside an apartment and was throwing items and glass from an apartment window.
According to a San Jose Police Department news release, the suspect allegedly fired at least one shot in the direction of officers. Special operations personnel and tactical negotiators are currently at the location.
Units are currently in the area of Warring Dr and Calmor Av investigating reports of an adult male breaking glass and throwing items from an apartment window. Negotiators were called to the scene to resolve the situation peacefully. Several streets in the neighborhood remain closed due to the continuing investigation.
The public is advised to avoid the area until further notice.
