Son is now the second longest-serving first-team player at Tottenham after Ben Davies and is the most influential star at the club, having been handed the captaincy a year ago.

Heung-min Son has been at Tottenham since 2015

However, there have been some rumours over recent days that the forward could leave Tottenham this summer and reunite with former manager Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce (TEAMtalk), although this claim was quickly rubbished by other sources (Sport Digitale).

GiveMeSport have now claimed that Korea is sure to still be at the club at the start of next season, stating that there is ‘no chance’ of a sale this summer.

Heung-min Son seeking long-term Spurs stay

The outlet goes on to suggest that it is quite possible that the Spurs captain will see out the rest of his career at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Son is thought to be planning on remaining in N17 for a few years to come and is said to be open to signing a new long-term contract with the Lilywhites.

Spurs Web Opinion

Son is still very much in the peak of his powers and there is no doubt that he will be at Tottenham for a few more years.

However, players rarely get to finish their careers at this level, given the unrelenting demands at the top end of the Premier League, which is why the forward could potentially return to Asia or move to the MLS in four of five years.

One thing which needs to happen for next season is playing Son on the left of the front three, he looks far more comfortable in his usual position rather than being the focal point of the attack.
