UFC Louisville live blog: Jared Cannonier vs. Nassourdine Imavov

This is the UFC Louisville live blog for Jared Cannonier vs. Nassourdine Imavov, the main event fight on Saturday in Louisville, KY.

Two years ago, Cannonier fell short against Israel Adesanya in his middleweight title shot at UFC 276, losing a unanimous decision in a fight that was widely panned. But Cannonier managed to pick himself up and rebound with back-to-back wins, including a split decision over future middleweight champion Sean Strickland. A knee injury has sidelined Cannonier for the past year, but now the 40-year-old “Killa Gorilla” is back and looking to make his case for another crack at UFC gold.

A staple of the UFC’s middleweight division since joining the promotion in 2020, Imavov picked up the biggest win of his MMA career his last time out, taking a majority decision over Roman Dolidze at UFC Vegas 85. Now Imavov has the chance to vault into the top-five and insert himself into the 185-pound title picture.
