Cameroon defeats Cape Verde 4-1 in World Cup qualifier

YAOUNDE, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon defeated Cape Verde 4-1 in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday.

Cameroon opened the scoring in the 13th minute through a header from defender Michael Ngadeu at the Ahamdou Ahidjo stadium in the capital, Yaounde.

Captain Vincent Aboubakar doubled the lead in the 25th minute and converted a penalty in the 44th minute for the Indomitable Lions.
