Charlotte FC looking to bounce back in rivalry match with Atlanta United

A new chapter of the rivalry between Charlotte FC and Atlanta United will be written with this weekend’s upcoming match in Atlanta.

The upcoming match is the first between the two clubs this season. The two clubs have faced each other four times in Charlotte FC’s short history with each team winning two games.

Charlotte is coming off a 3-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls after a five-match unbeaten streak. Following the loss, Charlotte sits in seventh place in the MLS Eastern Conference with 22 points and a 6-6-4 record. Atlanta is coming off a 3-1 win over Inter Miami and sits in 13th in the MLS Eastern Conference with 16 points and a 4-7-4 record.

Atlanta’s home record has not been stellar this season, winning three of their eight home matches so far this season with four losses and a draw. Charlotte has struggled on the road this season, falling to 1-5-1 on the road so far this season after the loss to New York.

Charlotte could be without Patrick Agyemang against Atlanta with an ankle injury he suffered against New York.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. EST and will be available to watch on Apple TV and FOX.
