NYSP: Troy man arrested following burglary investigations

BRUNSWICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was arrested following multiple burglary investigations, according to the New York State Police. Michael Monge, 40, faces a slew of charges concerning these incidents.

Charges

  • Two counts of third-degree burglary
  • Third-degree grand larceny
  • Second-degree criminal mischief
  • Third-degree attempted grand larceny
  • Fourth-degree grand larceny
  • Two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief
  • Petit larceny

This arrest and these charges stem from a culmination of investigations in March and April. All incidents occurred in the town of Brunswick.

Troopers report receiving a complaint on March 11 that a business on Hoosick Road had been burglarized. It is alleged that Monge entered the business, caused damage to the property, and burglarized it the evening prior.

Also on March 11, police report responding to the Aldi's in Brunswick for a report of a past larceny. The police say their investigation determined that Monge entered the store the evening before and stole merchandise.

It is alleged that Monge entered the Brunswick Walmart on March 14 and April 15 and attempted to break multiple theft-protection devices. He was allegedly unsuccessful but the devices were damaged.

Troopers say they received a complaint that a business was broken into on Hoosick Road on April 27. It is alleged that Monge entered the property early in the morning, damaged the property, and tried to burglarize the business.

Monge was being held on similar but unrelated charges in Albany County Correctional Facility when he was transported to the State Police for processing of the above charges. He was arraigned in Brunswick Town Court and returned to Albany County Correctional Facility.
