BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — There were an estimated $2 million in damages following a fire at a Grand Island daycare facility on Saturday, the Grand Island Fire Company said Sunday.
Crews responded to KinderKiddz daycare facility, located at 2710 Grand Island Blvd., just after 12:45 p.m. Saturday, where "heavy heat" and smoke were found within the building.
Crews were fighting the blaze for over two hours and the fire was out by 3:15 p.m. There were no listed injuries in the fire.
KinderKiddz is listed as "temporarily closed" online as of Sunday morning.
The fire is still under investigation and was turned over to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. Grand Island fire chief Don Turner told News 4 WIVB Sunday that they believe the blaze was caused by tablets charging.
