SLEMCO prepares for storm damage repairs to utility infrastructure

KLFY, Youngsville, La - 4:45 am Update - According to SLEMCO, Youngsville feeders have sustained major damage from "what will likely turn out to be one or more tornadoes hitting the area." SLEMCO crews have found multiple single and double circuit poles broken out of the Youngsville substation. 

SLEMCO confirms the Detente and Deacon Road area alone has seven broken double-circuit poles with two crossarms and two sets of three-phase lines on each pole.

SLEMCO expects there are several fallen trees in the area, as well.  More damage will most likely become visible as the sun rises. 

Crews are preparing and loading equipment to make repairs, as others continue to assess damage. SLEMCO adds that tree trimming crews are in route to begin tree removal so repairs can begin.
