Love Island’s biggest on-screen blunders – from crew filmed in villa to ‘ghost hand’ and kiss that was filmed twice
A NEW wave of Love Island is about to wash over us and millions are getting ready to tune in.
But the path to true love never did run smooth and all the on-air bloopers and mysterious editing mishaps since the show first aired in 2015, are all part of the romance.
Here we look back over the big moments over the last 10 years that truly took our breath away.
Ghost Hand
Fans freaked out when a strange hand was spotted on Scott’s shoulder[/caption]Eagled-eyed fans almost jumped out of their skin last series when “Thing” from the Adams Family made an appearance last series.
While Scott Van Der Sluis and Molly Smith were sunbathing together, a mystery hand appeared to be curled around Scott’s neck. Although Molly was in shot, she wasn’t close enough to be touching him. Spooky….
Double Kiss
It was so good they couldn’t get enough, or was it simply filmed twice[/caption]Ultra confident Georgia Steel courted controversy when she picked Jack Fowler to go on a date even though he was coupled up in Laura back in 2018.
They shared a kiss at the end of the date and Georgia later confessed that they locked lips more than once for the cameras.
She defended the ITV show by saying, “At the end of the day, its a TV show.”
Hair Blunder
A Stylish half ponytail giving an image of sophistication[/caption] Or loose blonde tresses giving off the just got out of bed look[/caption]Mary Bedford’s hair magically changed from loose beachy tresses to a stylish up do in seconds, in the 2021 series.
The editing blip came in an episode where Toby was deciding whether he wanted to be coupled with Mary, Abi or Chloe. The camera panned to Mary showing her hair loose, then when it came back round again, her hair had been pinned up.
Lashings of drama
Lashings of drama occurred during the 2023 winter series when Zara Lackenby- Brown’s false eyelashes appeared to be falling off in one clip.
Then it looked as though she’d taken them off, only for them to reappear later in the scene. It led social media users to suspect the crew had edited the questions in the wrong order.
Crew crumbs
A crew member was spotted inside the villa through the glass in 2019[/caption]Back in 2019 Love Island suffered an epic blunder after a crew member was spotted in the villa ahead of a mass dumping.
The gaffe took place while Amber Gill was walking away from her fellow Islanders at the fire pit.
The scene in question appeared moments before Anna Valiki and Jordan Hames came to blows.
As the camera pans to show Anna Valiki, 28, a crew member can be seen moving behind a window.
And the mistake didn’t go unnoticed as one keen-eyed fan took to Twitter to report the gaffe.
