Alan Maybury Appointed Manager
We are delighted to announce that Alan Maybury has been appointed First Team Manager of Stirling Albion Football Club.
Alan had a distinguished playing career turning out for a number of top-level clubs including Leeds United, Hearts, Leicester City, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Hibs. He was also capped ten times for the Republic of Ireland.
Alan is a highly experienced coach with great credentials. He holds a UEFA Pro Licence and currently has a coaching role with the SFA. He coached at Hibs, Falkirk, St Johnstone and Kilmarnock before taking up the managerial reins at Edinburgh City in March 2022. He enjoyed a successful spell in the capital, taking City into League One for the first time in their history.
The recommendation to appoint Alan was made by the selection committee and approved by both the Club and Supporters’ Trust boards.
Discussions were also held with Chris Aitken. As part of those discussions, matters came to light that meant we were unable to continue with his application.
We look forward to working with Alan to help bring success to Stirling Albion both on and off the field.
Further announcements about backroom staff will follow in due course.
