Cowboys Use Long Ball and Holiday to Beat Florida in Regional
Oklahoma State's baseball team hit five home runs and got a complete game two-hitter from pitcher Brian Holiday to beat Florida 7-1 in the NCAA regional at O'Brate Stadium in Stillwater on Saturday night.
Holiday did not give up a run until surrendering a solo home run in the ninth inning.
He struck out 10 and walked just one and got help from his teammates via the home run.
OSU hit back-to-back home runs in two different innings, both of which featured Nolan Schubart going deep.
In the first inning, a Schubart home run was followed by Zach Ehrhard hitting a solo shot.
In the third, Carson Benge hit a solo home run, followed by Schubart hitting one out to make it 4-0.
OSU got three runs in the seventh inning, as Aiden Meola hit a two-run home run, and Avery Ortiz drove in a run on a single.
OSU advances to Sunday's regional final round at 6:00 pm.
The Cowboys will play the winner of Sunday's 1:00 pm game between Florida and Nebraska.
The winner of that game will have to beat OSU twice to win the regional.
