Report: Spurs have ‘asked to be kept informed’ about 19-year-old centre-back

HITC have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Juventus starlet Dean Huijsen, whose future at the Allianz Stadium is now in doubt.

Huijsen broke into Juve’s first team last season, aged just 18, and the centre-back’s stock has risen substantially over the last few months after he impressed during his loan spell at Roma during the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

HITC say that Ange Postecoglou’s men are keen on adding defensive reinforcements to their squad this summer and have now set their sights on the teenager.

According to the report, Spurs are ‘looking closely’ at Huijsen and have asked Juve ‘to be kept informed’ of their plans for the defender.

It is explained that new Bianconeri boss Thiago Motta is looking to make some additions to his defence and that the club might decide to sell their academy graduate in order to be able to fund moves for those targets.

However, Tottenham are not alone in their admiration for Huijsen, with the Dutchman’s situation also being watched by Man Utd and Liverpool while Newcastle and Chelsea have previously enquired about the youngster.

A senior centre-back might not been too keen on the idea of being a backup at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is why Postecoglou’s men might be forced to pursue a young, up-and-coming option such as Huijsen.
