By Bay City News
A man who fell onto the rocky beach below an 80-foot cliff on Pacifica’s Esplanade Beach was rescued Friday by firefighters and a California Highway Patrol helicopter.
Three fire companies and a rescue unit from the North County Fire Authority responded about 6:38 p.m. for the cliff rescue in the area of Esplanade Avenue at Manor Drive, the department said.
As firefighters were setting up for a rope rescue, a CHP helicopter was able to reach the victim from the base of the cliff and carry him to waiting firefighter paramedics, the department said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, the department said.
