B&M shopper clears shelves of 10p plants to transform garden for cheap
A B&M shopper has managed to transform their garden on the cheap after clearing the shelves of 10p plants.
The discounter is known for selling produce on the cheap and one customer recently found bargain deal in their local store.
One savvy shopper was thrilled with what she saw at B&M and quickly took to social media to show off her loot.
She managed to nab a number of potted plants at the bargain retailer with some priced as low as 10p.
Posting on the Facebook group she alerted fellow punters of the bargain deal.
Her post read: “When Chris sends me in to B&M for one thing I come back out with out it.
“But I got these he can’t complain when they been reduced to 10p 20p and 50p.”
A social media user praised the find, writing: “Bargain, fair play to you.”
Always remember to shop around when buying something like this as well as you might find it cheaper elsewhere.
Retailers tend to reduce items like this to clear stock in specific branches.
So it’s not a guarantee that you will find a bargain just like other punters do.
You can use websites like Price Spy and Trolley to compare prices on thousands of products across different retailers.
The Google Product tab is helpful for running a quick scan across the internet too.
The bargain retailer currently has around 750 stores but has a long-term target of 950 sites.
Back in May 2023, B&M announced plans to open 30 new stores in the UK over the past year, including some relocations of older sites.
Earlier this year B&M opened 17 stores many of which were former Wilko sites.
B&M agreed to buy up to 51 Wilko locations in a £13million deal in September 2023.
How to save money at B&M
Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M’s scanner app.
The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.
Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.
The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
What is the B&M scanner app?
SAVVY shoppers are using an app to find better discounts in stores.
Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:
- Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
- Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
- You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
- Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
- If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
- You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.
Remember you can find your nearest B&M branch by using the retailer’s store locator tool on its website.
Keep an eye out for red sticker products as well, according to deals expert Tom Church.
These are put on special buy products that have also been reduced in price.
