Report: Spurs are planning to loan defender to an English club next season
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are set to loan out academy starlet Alfie Dorrington to an EFL club for the 2024-25 season.
Dorrington, who joined the Spurs academy aged 13, has progressed through the age group ranks at the club and is now seen as one of the most exciting young prospects at Hotspur Way.
The centre-back played a key role for the club’s Under-21s this season as they lifted the PL2 title, featuring 19 times for Wayne Burnett’s men and emerging as the leader of the backline.
While the 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for Tottenham, he did make Ange Postecoglou’s matchday squad a number of times last season.
Tottenham want to loan out Alfie Dorrington
Football Insider have now claimed that Postecoglou wants Dorrington to head out on loan next season so that he can get some senior football under his belt.
The report says that the Tottenham boss sees the teenager as a future first-team prospect and believes that playing competitive football will aid his development over the next 12 months.
The publication adds that several EFL clubs have already registered an interest in signing the centre-back on loan.
