Report reveals how much Tottenham want for Emerson Royal this summer

According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Football Italia), AC Milan are unwilling to match Tottenham’s asking price for Emerson Royal.

The report says that new Milan boss Paulo Fonseca will be given a huge transfer kitty of around €100m (£85m) this summer to put his own imprint on the squad.

This is because of the financial boost due to Champions League qualification and expected earnings from player sales this summer.

The report says that a part of this budget will go towards a deal for Emerson, who has emerged as the Serie A side’s top right-back target.

AC Milan don’t want to pay £25m for Emerson Royal

It is revealed that while Tottenham are willing to sell the Brazilian, they are demanding €30m (£25.5m), which Milan have no intention of paying.

Instead, the Rossoneri are expected to play the waiting game as they expect Spurs’ asking price for the full-back to drop over the next month or so.

This report comes a couple of days after Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Emerson’s agent had flown to Italy to hold preliminary talks with the Milan hierarchy.

Emerson is likely to generate plenty of interest across the continent and I can see why Tottenham are holding out for around £25m for the right-back. Spurs would be hoping for a bidding war to ensue for the Brazilian, particularly with reports suggesting that he is on the radar of Saudi sides.
