My go-to method grows hair faster without prescription drugs – it gets the blood flowing, I always use a song as a timer
WHEN it comes to growing your mane, forget about medication and add in some music instead.
A hair guru shared how getting longer locks can be achieved in a more natural way.
Redditor Misophoniasucksdude shared their tips for getting healthier hair.
“As far as I know, the only proven technique to grow hair faster without prescription drugs is called the inversion method,” they said.
They explained the steps of the practice that they swore by as the secret to getting more envious strands.
“You lay down, hang your head upside down, and massage your scalp for a few minutes to get blood flow going,” they said.
All that was left to do was add some music to the mix to get that hair singing.
“When I use it, I put on a song that’s the right length of time, and use that as a timer,” they said.
Worried about feeling “dizzy” when you try to stand back up again?
They explained you don’t have to be concerned.
“All that blood in your head is going to have to rush back through your body,” they said.
“Get up slowly,” they added.
They did, however, have a warning for those with certain medical conditions.
“Maybe don’t attempt if you already have blood pressure or balance-related health concerns,” they said.
The inversion method, which has gained popularity online, claims to grow your hair by up to two inches a month, according to Healthline.
However, they also warn that there is no conclusive research to prove or disprove that the technique actually works.
They explained how those who are fans of hanging their head upside down in the hopes of growing their hair sometimes also add in a headstand or handstand to their routine.
What is the inversion method
According to Healthline, the inversion method involves hanging your head upside down to increase blood flow to the scalp, stimulating hair growth.
They explained how there have been no studies to either prove or disprove the method’s ability to contribute to hair growth.
There is, however, some evidence to show that there are growth benefits associated with massaging the scalp before or during inversion.
Incorporating essential oils has also been proven to promote hair growth.
One survey by Springer Link showed that the majority of participants who massaged their scalp from 11 to 20 minutes per day for half a year noticed a stabilization in hair loss and regrowth.
They also shared one common way of practicing the technique:
Sit on a chair with your knees apart and hang your head down below your heart.
Use your hands to flip all of your hair forward so it’s hanging upside down.
Hold this position for four minutes. If you begin to feel dizzy, weak, or any other discomfort, don’t continue.
Sit up, raising your head slowly to avoid a head rush or dizziness.
Wash your hair thoroughly to remove all of the oil.
Repeat daily for one week each month.
Still, there is evidence to suggest that at least one part of the process can be beneficial.
Massaging your scalp alone or with essential oil before or during inversion has been shown to lead to hair growth.
They suggested diluting three to five drops of an essential oil along with a carrier oil such as olive oil, argan oil, or coconut oil.
After adding the concoction to your hair and scalp and combing through the ends, you can massage your scalp in a circular motion.
This should be done in both a clockwise and counterclockwise motion for four to five minutes.
If you wish to continue with the full inversion method, they advise sitting in a chair with your knees apart as you hang your head down below your heart.
For best results, they also recommend flipping your hair forward.
