Joey King's Hair Stylist Confirms She Didn't Cut Her Hair, Wore a Wig for That Chic Cannes Bob

Joey King had two dramatically different hairstyles for her two red carpet appearances at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, but she didn’t actually cut her hair!

The 24-year-old actress’ hair stylist has confirmed that she was wearing a wig to achieve that chic “Prada bob.”

Despite sharing a video of himself cutting Joey‘s hair while in France, hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos has revealed he was actually cutting a wig!

“I’m flattered by the reaction,” Dimitris told People. “In reality, Joey‘s hair is still as long and beautiful as ever. We used a high-quality, waist-length wig for the transformation. By cutting and styling the wig into a sleek bob, we achieved the dramatic change without any permanent commitment. It’s all about versatility and playing with different looks.”

“We felt a chic bob would be the perfect way to showcase her features and bring a fresh, modern edge to her look,” he added. “Plus, it’s always fun to switch things up.”

He said, “The inspiration for the bob came from the classic Hollywood glamour with a modern fashionista twist. We wanted something that was elegant yet edgy, reminiscent of iconic starlets, but with a fresh, current vibe.”
