Lidl’s pistachio spread has sent shoppers wild with some even calling it a ’10 out of 10′ product[/caption]

Coming in a very reasonable £2.99, the spread has an interesting slime green look to it that may put customers off at first but those who have got their hands on it have declared it is “spot on”.

Made up of 45 per cent pistachios, according to online reviews, the 190g jar by Italiamo is proving a hit with loyal Lidl locals with the nutty sensation quickly going viral.

A post was shared on Facebook showing the jar of spread next to a bagel smeared in the green goodness.

The caption said: “Pistachio Spread is back at Lidl. This is just soooo good, spot on, 10 out of 10!

“If you like Pistachio you need to get this from Lidl asap!!”

People flocked to the comments in disbelief that it finally has returned with one saying: “One million percent need a Lidl trip now for allllll the pistachio goodness.”

Another labelled it a “must try” as one thrilled shopper told her pal to “sprint to Lidl right now”.

A third simply wrote: “OMG, this looks incredible.”

Outside of Lidl, pistachio spreads are extremely rare on supermarket shelves.

Out of the huge British chains only Ocado sell a similar product with their pistachio butter that costs a whopping £8.50.

It can also be purchased from online stores such as Amazon for varying prices.

The comeback comes during Italian Week at Lidl where they are showcasing the best of the nation’s products sold under the Italiamo brand.

Items range from the tastiest Amaretti biscuits to delicious tiramisu and coffee flavoured ice creams.

And if you can’t get enough of pistachios but also want to add something sweet to your pallet why not give Lidl’s pistachios with milk chocolate a try for just £2.99.

It comes as Lidl made a major change to its loyalty scheme earlier this month – offering shoppers extra discounts and free products.

The major discounter, which operates more than 960 UK stores, has launched “Lidl Plus Offers” in a boost for shoppers’ pockets.

The feature allows loyalty scheme customers to access additional discounts when scanning their phones at the tills.

The latest addition to the app is different to Lidl’s “coupons” which are personalised offers which have to be activated and then redeemed at the till.
