New exhibit at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library to open
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Watch where you step the next time you are at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, the floor may be Lava!
The library's newest exhibit opens Saturday, June 1and 27 News got an inside look on Friday. The exhibit is called the "Floor is Lava," taken after the popular game.
For the past two weeks, the gallery has worked to compile art, rocks, equipment and building volcanoes for a hand-on experience.
"We've got places where kids to play 'the floor is lava," Brittany Keegan curator of exhibitions said. "We've got places where kids can look at rocks and do other fun activities here in the gallery all under the theme of volcanoes."
The exhibit runs until Aug.18 with special presentations by volcanologists on June 11 and July 29.
