Rename Oriole Park? Please don’t go there. | STAFF COMMENTARY
Just when new Baltimore Orioles owner David Rubenstein was batting 1,000, he struck out (“The Orioles have operated as a small-market team. Will that change under new owner David Rubenstein?” May 30). Everything was going great, and then the new guy mentioned naming rights!
Well here’s a newsflash for the O’s latest owner: That iconic ballpark at Camden and Eutaw streets has a name, a fine name that folks fought for back in the day.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards is good enough, certainly long enough and now old enough to be a tradition. In the apt words of the Beatles, let it be!
