NATIONAL SUMMARY
Late-afternoon thunderstorms can bring large hail, damaging
wind gusts and even a tornado from southwestern Nebraska to
West Texas tomorrow. Thunderstorms can bring flash flooding
and localized damaging wind gusts to eastern Texas, northern
and western Louisiana and far southern Arkansas. Rain may be
heavy enough to cause ponding on streets and highways in
northeastern Illinois, northern Indiana and southwestern
Lower Michigan. Elsewhere, thunderstorms will rumble in much
of the Ohio and Tennessee valleys, but the risk of flooding
or severe weather will be low. A spotty shower or two will
dampen South Florida. A couple of showers will occur in
northwestern Washington state before much heavier rain
arrives for the second half of the weekend. Portions of the
Desert Southwest will be well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
