ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- It's Memorial Day, and cities and towns around the Capital Region are gearing up for their Memorial Day parades. Although the weekend was nice, today there will be some showers throughout the day and storms later in the afternoon, according to Meteorologist Matt Mackie.

Memorial Day parades around the Capital Region
Memorial Day is today, Monday, May 27. Cities and towns across the Capital Region are holding parades and ceremonies to honor those who died while serving in the United States armed forces.
East Greenbush PD seeking to identify car theft suspects
The East Greenbush Police Department is asking for help from residents of Hampton Manor regarding a stolen car. Anyone with security footage or photos of the incident is encouraged to contact Officer Witko at (518) 479-2525.
Albany Police investigating shooting on Second Avenue
The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on Second Avenue in Albany. Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. and reported finding a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Fatal car, dirt bike crash in Pittsfield on Saturday
The Pittsfield Police Department reported that there was a crash between a car and a dirt bike on Saturday around 6:50 p.m. The crash was fatal for the dirt bike driver, according to police.
