Brotherhood Playoff Watch: Dallas Moves To 3-0 But Lively Leaves With A Frightening Injury
Fortunately it wasn’t as scary as it looked.
The Dallas Mavericks took a 3-0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday night but it wasn’t without cost as former Blue Devil Dereck Lively left the game in the second quarter after taking a knee to the neck from 7-0, 248 lb. Karl-Anthony Towns.
The good news is that he isn’t in the concussion protocol. The bad news is that he has a neck sprain. His status is not yet clear.
Dallas managed okay without him and fellow former Blue Devil Kyrie Irving scored 33 points, had four assists and three rebounds.
Lively only played nine minutes before getting hurt but he managed to get six points and three rebounds before leaving the court.
Game 4 is Tuesday night in Dallas and obviously the Mavs could sweep.
So could the Celtics: Boston gets a chance to close out Indiana on Monday night.
