After playing for the University of Arizona Wildcats and graduating in 2003, Luke was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.

For 10 seasons, he played both small and power forward for the Lakers.

Following his tenure with the Lakers, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On April 5, 2013, he retired after playing his last game.

Luke went on to coach for the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers, and the Cavaliers.

When Luke won his first championship in 2009, he and Bill became the NBA’s first father-son duo to win multiple league championships.

On May 27, 2024, it was announced that 71-year-old Bill lost his battle with cancer.

In a statement, the league shared: “Bill Walton was truly one of a kind.

“As a Hall of Fame player, he redefined the center position.

“As a cherished member of the NBA family for 50 years, Bill will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love him.”
