Fabrizio Romano names the one player Tottenham are sure to go for this summer 

When asked to name one player who he knows for a fact that Tottenham will look to sign this summer, Fabrizio Romano did not waste any time in naming Conor Gallagher.

With Gallagher having just a year left on his contract with Chelsea, Tottenham might view this summer as an ideal opportunity to sign the midfielder, particularly given the Blues’ well-documented financial issues. 

Several outlets over the last few weeks have indicated that the England international’s contract talks with Chelsea have completely stalled and the Lilywhites are in the driving seat to land the 24-year-old, who is thought to prefer to remain in London. (Football Insider).

However, Tottenham might not have an easy run at the player, with reports over the last few days claiming that Aston Villa are also quite keen on securing his services (The Telegraph).

Tottenham will move for Conor Gallagher

Romano is convinced that Ange Postecoglou’s men will at least test the waters for the midfielder this summer.

When he was asked to name the one player that he knows for certain Tottenham are looking at, the journalist swiftly responded on JD Football: “Conor Gallagher.”

It is clear that Gallagher is Tottenham’s top midfield target and one would expect a bid to be sent to Chelsea for the player over the coming weeks.

However, it is also clear that Spurs are not putting all their eggs in the Gallagher basket, and some alternatives have also been identified, including Morgan Gibbs-White and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
