Jack Catterall to get married just DAYS after bruising and bloody boxing grudge victory against Josh Taylor

JACK CATTERALL will need to scrub up after his dust-up – as he prepares to get married in just a few days.

El Gato earned sweet revenge for being robbed of the undisputed light-welterweight world titles in 2022 by beating Josh Taylor in Leeds last night.

He took it 117-111, 117-111, 116-113 on the judges’ scorecards after 12 brutal rounds of boxing to earn the bragging rights.

A battered, bruised and bloody Catterall then got a celebratory kiss from fiancee Lauren Adele Finch inside the ring.

The pair then posed for photos together as she dazzled in a strapless red dress.

But just ten days after fight night, they will be kissing and posing for photos again – this time as a married couple.

And it means the Chorley boxer may well be sporting a few cuts and bruises in his suit and tie on his wedding day in the first week of June.

Matchroom Boxing shared the clip of Jack and Lauren kissing at the First Direct Arena.

They captioned the post: “A few bruises for the wedding photos in 10 days… But a great day and night to be had

“To the future Mr and Mrs Catterall ”

Catterall confirmed he would take some time off away from the ring to enjoy his wedding and settle into married life.

He got engaged to Lauren in 2022 and they have a three-year-old daughter Riley together.

Finch – who had her hen do in Marbella earlier this month – was full of praise for her husband-to-be after his statement win.

She said: “So proud, he was amazing.

“Brilliant night, so happy it’s done.”

Lauren had slammed the shocking decision to give Taylor the win in their first fight, calling it an “absolute embarrassment to boxing”.

But her man got his own back in style with a comprehensive victory – although not everyone was happy with the outcome.

Catterall’s post-fight interview in Leeds was interrupted by legendary promoter Bob Arum.

The 92-year-old Top Rank chief grabbed a microphone in the ring and launched into a blistering rant about the result.

He moaned: “I saw the fight like everybody else.

“Those scorecards were a disgrace, were an absolute disgrace.

“And I really feel sorry for Josh, I thought he won the fight.

“But those scorecards were ridiculous.

“And as a lesson, I will never ever allow an American fighter to come here with the British board [British Boxing Board of Control] scoring the fight.

“Those scores were ridiculous.”
