Virat Kohli to MISS T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-up Game vs Bangladesh Due to Delay in Paperwork – REPORT
Mumbai: Virat Kohli is not travelling to the US with the first batch of players, in fact, his journey for the T20 World Cup has unfortunately been delayed. Kohli’s is still awaiting some paperwork and that is the reason why his arrival in the US will be late. In fact, he is also set to miss India’s warm-up game against Bangladesh. It is reported that the paperwork would be done in the next 4-5 days. This is not good from an Indian point of view because Kohli is their premier batter and he is also in ominous form.
Meanwhile, led by Rohit Sharma, the first batch of Indian players left for USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday. In a video shared by news agency PTI, Rohit, Ravindra Jadeja, head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, and fielding coach T Dilip were seen entering the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai amid huge fanfare.
Behind Rohit and Jadeja were the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Khaleel Ahmed. However, there were no signs of Virat Kohli. The former India captain might travel in the second batch of players.
For the unknown, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to travel to the United States from England as the Mumbai Indians captain was spotted practicing in the United Kingdom. Pant, Rohit, Suryakukar and Kuldeep were also caught giving autographs to a fan who was present at the airport.
