Marathon for a Better Life is set to take place June 8

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - In Schoharie County, preparations are underway for Marathon for a Better Life on June 8. Started in 1996, Marathon for a Better Life provides financial help to Schoharie County residents battling cancer.

According to Bruce Tryon, the organization has helped close to 1800 residents in Schoharie County. The marathon committee holds fundraising events throughout the year leading up to the big event.

The marathon has three requirements to get assistance: Applicants must be a resident of Schoharie County, they must be currently fighting cancer and there must be a need. For a schedule of events and to get involved on June 8, visit their website.
