CT state police respond to 99 crashes so far on Memorial Day weekend, make 3 DUI arrests

State police patrols of Connecticut’s roads and highways this Memorial Day weekend to date netted more than 3 arrests for driving under the influence by Saturday morning, according to state police.

The information released early Saturday was for the period beginning at midnight Thursday and ending at 11:59 p.m, on Friday, May 24, according to state police.

Connecticut State Police also had a total of 1,521 calls for service during that Memorial Day weekend period to date, according to the agency.

State police also issued 165 speeding violations; 27 seatbelt violation tickets; 96 hazardous moving violations (this would include violations such as following too closely, failure to move over); made the 3 DUI arrests; responded to 99 motor vehicle crashes, including 13 with injuries; and performed 134 motorist assists (such as for disabled vehicles and debris in roads).
