Charlotte FC looking to extend unbeaten streak against the Philadelphia Union

After a scoreless draw last time out against LA Galaxy, Charlotte FC is preparing to face the Philadelphia Union.

Charlotte currently sits at sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference with 21 points and a record of 6-5-3. Philadelphia is not far behind Charlotte, being in eighth place with 17 points and a 4-4-5 with one fewer match played than Charlotte.

As has been the case for multiple matches this year, Charlotte and Philadelphia have taken very different route to get to where they are at. Charlotte has scored 14 goals while allowing 13 goals in their 14 matches played this year, while Philadelphia has been a higher scoring team, scoring 25 goals and allowing 21 in 13 matches.

Charlotte has been in good form recently, especially their defense, which has not allowed a goal for the past four matches. Charlotte’s back line will have their work cut out for them facing a high scoring Philadelphia team that is coming off a 3-0 victory over the New England Revolution on the road.

One factor in the match that bodes well for Charlotte is it being a home match. Charlotte has only lost one of their eight home matches this season, winning five of them. However, Philadelphia is unbeaten through seven matches on the road this season with a road record of 3-0-4.

The two teams will face off on Saturday, May 25 with kickoff being set for 7:30 p.m. EST. The match will be available for streaming through the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
