Report: Tottenham are ready to make a £34m offer for Juventus star

Tottenham Hotspur are once again being linked to Juventus full-back, Andrea Cambiaso, and it is thought the Premier League side are now ready to submit an offer for the Italian this summer.

While Spurs are seemingly very happy with Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie in the full-back positions, there is very little depth in those areas right now.

Emerson Royal could be on his way out of the club, and Ryan Sessegnon is being released at the end of next month after a torrid time with injuries.

So, it figures that the Lilywhites have been looking at Cambiaso, a player who can function on both the right and left side of defence, for a while now.

Earlier this year, it was reported by Numero Diez that Tottenham had enquired about Cambiaso and had been given an ‘outright no’ by Juventus.

That could change this summer though, and Tutto Juve claim an offer is in the pipeline from Spurs ahead of the transfer window opening.

Apparently, a number of Premier League clubs have been “bewitched” by Cambiaso’s displays for Juventus this season, with Tottenham high on that list.

Spurs are now “ready to offer €40m” for the young Italian, which equates to roughly £34m. But, they will face competition from Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Manchester United, too.

However, it is thought Juventus are trying to tie Cambiaso down to a new contract at this time (Tutto Juve).

I watched the Coppa Italia final the other night and Cambiaso was outstanding. He offers everything Spurs and Postecoglou would be looking for in a full-back, particularly going forward. He’s got a wicked cross on him, and loves to roam into advanced positions, and I’d be very happy if we snapped him up this summer to compete with Udogie and Porro.
