West Bengal: Sporadic incidents of violence reported from some Lok Sabha seats during polling

During the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polling in West Bengal, scattered incidents of violence were reported across the eight constituencies. The Election Commission received 954 complaints by 11 am, including allegations of EVM malfunctions and obstruction of agents from entering booths. Despite this, the poll panel stated that voting remained peaceful overall. Clashes erupted between TMC and BJP supporters in Ghatal over agent access to booths, with both sides trading accusations. Similar incidents occurred in Kanthi, where BJP activists accused central forces of voter intimidation.
