Mets Minors Recap: Kevin Parada Stays Hot for Binghamton
It was certainly a mixed bag of outcomes on Thursday in the Mets’ farm system, though they did get solid pitching performances from both Triple-A Syracuse starters. Binghamton Rumble Ponies catcher Kevin Parada continued his hot stretch and they got a lights-out relief outing from Justin Jarvis.
Triple-A
Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (31-16) 3, Syracuse Mets (28-18) 2
- 2B Jose Iglesias: 1-for-3, RBI, R (.794 OPS)
- SS Luisangel Acuña: 1-for-3, R, 2B (.634OPS)
- DH Rylan Bannon 0-for-0, 3 BB (.930 OPS)
- CF Rhylan Thomas: 1-for-1, BB (.697 OPS)
The Mets scored two runs on two hits in the first inning, but had only one hit the rest of the game. Iglesias and Bannon continue to battle for a potential bench spot with the big league club.
- RHP Blade Tidwell (3.18 ERA) 5.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 3 K (91 pitches/58 strikes)
Tidwell had an uneven Triple-A debut as he limited runs, but walked a season-high four and tied a season-low with only three strikeouts. He had his fastball up to 98 mph in the outing. Reliever Danny Young let one of two inherited runners from Tidwell score.
