Roosters to take over former O'Charley's near Gahanna
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An Ohio-based casual restaurant known for its chicken wings is opening a new location just north of Gahanna, moving into a building that previously housed an O’Charley’s restaurant.
A Roosters Wings is coming to 4850 Morse Road. The new restaurant will mark Roosters’ 15th Columbus-area location and 33rd Ohio location.
“It’s in the very preliminary stages, but it is official that the lease has been signed,” said Nicole Cox, vice president of marketing at Roosters.
Cox said the building is in great condition, but will be undergoing renovations to “Roosters-ize” the establishment. The company is aiming to open sometime this winter.
“We’ve been wanting to be a part of the Gahanna community for a very, very long time, and this was the perfect opportunity, perfect building, perfect location,” Cox said. “We’re just so excited that we finally found a place to be in the community.”
Roosters will be taking over the building that belonged to a now-shuttered O’Charley’s, which closed six locations in Ohio and numerous more across the country last year due to “industry challenges.”
The Nashville-based chain closed its Morse Road and Georgesville Square locations in August and its Stringtown Road and Westerville-area restaurant in November.
The former Stringtown Road O’Charley’s in Grove City is also getting a makeover, with the steakhouse Logan’s Roadhouse acquiring the property. The brand now only operates two restaurants in central Ohio, one at 6224 Gender Road in Canal Winchester and another at 2272 Baltimore Reynoldsburg Road in Reynoldsburg.
