German AfD expulsion opens Pandora’s Box in EU politics

With the expulsion of the AfD, the far-right Identity and Democracy party got rid of one of its most controversial members in order not to lose its appeal to voters ahead of the European elections but is still far from being considered a potential partner by the centre-right European People’s Party (EPP) that is set to dominate the next legislature.
