A new docuseries on equality and women in sailing has arrived! Musto and World Sailing TV present “Evening the Keel,” narrated by Tracy Edwards MBE. Watch Part 1 below…
Meet the Women Making Waves
Musto has partnered up with World Sailing TV to create a welcome and exciting documentary series on women in sailing. It’s fittingly been titled Evening the Keel, as has created a space for pro female sailors to come together to talk equality in sailing, motherhood, and how to navigate through, and triumph in, this male dominated sport.
This 4-part series, narrated by none other than Tracy Edwards MBE, spotlights women in off-shore sailing, the gendered challenges they face, and diversity within the teams. In Tracy, and these female heroes, namely, Clarisse Crémer, Pamala Lee, Sam Davies, Francesca Clapcich, and Rosalin Kuiper, we see women at the top their game navigating their way to success, as they continue to inspire the deconstruction of inequality in all it’s forms.
With the recent triumph by Marie Tabarly in the Ocean Globe, and Maiden’s outstanding success, It seems this couldn’t have arrived at a better time!
Watch Evening the Keel
The Evening Keel Part 1 has just been released and you can watch it below. This first episode questions, in light of Tracy and Maiden’s success and the years since, where are we now? It also asks these elite female sailors for their views on gendered language in the sailing world.
In episode 2 (24/05), the discussion will focuses on diversity or clones, in part 3 (31/05) we’ll hear from the top female sailors on motherhood in their position, and episode 4 (7/06) will delve into change and opportunity. Stay tuned for the next episodes!
