Netflix responds as show called "most hateable TV"Netflix

Netflix has responded to backlash over its new show Buying London.

The reality series, starring Made in Chelsea's Rosi Walden, follows property mogul Daniel Daggers and his team of real estate agents at DDRE Global.

Following its release yesterday (May 22) on the streaming platform, many viewers have slated the show as a "cheap copycat" of Netflix hit Selling Sunset.

Netflix used the hate to further promote the show, posting to X a quote from a scathing Guardian review alongside a promotional image.

The post said: "'Probably the most hateable TV show ever made.' Stirring up drama, on and off screen. Buying London is now streaming!"

Despite seeing the agents flogging some of London's most exclusive properties – with plenty of drama in between – many fans said they were left "bored" by the "obviously scripted" reality series.

One X user wrote: "I switched Buying London off at the photoshoot in the first episode, insufferable is not a big enough word for these clowns."

Another added: "Already on episode 5 of #BuyingLondon and no one has actually sold a property yet?! Like, what's the point of this show????"

"Love reality TV, enjoy watching Selling Sunset," said another. "Now there’s a ‘Buying London’. It’s like watching paint dry. Characters flat, show is so weird & boring."

Not all comments about Buying London were negative, with many discussing the on-screen drama between the cast members instead.

Alongside Daniel and Rosi in the cast are "reformed party boy" Oli Hamilton, newbie in the office Reme Nicole, and Daniel's long-term friend Lauren Christy. They are joined by well-connected property agent Rasa Bagdonaviciute, interior designer Juliana Ardenius, and broadcaster Olivia Wayne.

Buying London is available to stream now on Netflix.
