'Betrayed': Ex-Trump aide rails against 'flip-flopper' Nikki Haley for going full MAGA

"The View's" co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, has been one of Nikki Haley's biggest supporters on television. Now, all of that has changed.

After spending months trashing former President Donald Trump as unfit, Haley this week offered her full support to him.

Whoopi Goldberg described Haley as "like a fish" being reeled in.

"Flip-flop! Flip-flop," Sunny Hostin joined in.

"I am disappointed and not surprised," Griffin lamented. "I lost faith in all politicians quite some time ago. Maybe I'm being petty; if someone attacked my marriage, or intelligence, I probably wouldn't go back and support them and them military... Listen, Haley voters feel betrayed. A quick scan of her Instagram comments showed that we feel betrayed by you. You told us why we should be fearful, and now you flipped on it."

Despite losing faith in Haley, Griffin said that her voters were more than supporting her; she was also "an avatar for something other than Trump."

In the past two Republican primary contests, hundreds of thousands of GOP voters cast ballots against Donald Trump. Despite Haley dropping out of the race, around 20 percent of voters registered as Republicans supported her over Trump. "I wasn't with Haley because I thought she was perfect," Griffin explained. "I was pretty critical of her a number of times on the show, but she gave us hope of a party that could start inching the right direction. I am not convinced these 150,000 people who turned out in suburban Pennsylvania to cast a protest vote for her are going to go to Trump because she's supporting him."

She explained that the voters in those states were more "Never Trump" than pro-Joe Biden. She urged Biden's campaign to go after those voters.

"He needs to call Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, running those ads in swing states saying Donald Trump doesn't want Nikki Haley voters. I want them!" Griffin said. "This is political expediency, it's pathetic and cowardly. She did not help Donald Trump but damaged herself honestly irreparably."

Hostin seemed shocked, questioning "irreparably."

"Yes," Griffin confirmed.

But Hostin said she's seen people live ten lives in politics, flip-flopping from one issue to another and holding a finger to the shifting winds of public opinion.

"She was never an earnest politician, if one exists," Hostin said, noting she wasn't surprised by the move.
