Myleene Klass and Hollyoaks’ star Kirsty Leigh-Porter break down in tears live on Loose Women
MYLEENE Klass and Hollyoaks star Kirsty Leigh-Porter were overcome with emotion on today’s Loose Women as they discussed their tragic baby losses.
Kirsty – best known for playing Leela Lomax on the Channel 4 soap – opened up about the death of baby back in 2018 as her character is currently going through the same thing.
Her story really resonated with panellist Myleene, who has suffered four miscarriages in the past before having her son Apollo.
During the emotional chat, Kirsty recalled the moment doctor’s told her they was no heartbeat.
She explained: “I went on my own because you don’t expect what happens next, I thought I would be in and out within ten minutes.
“When I got to the hospital and they attached me to the machine, they just couldn’t find a heartbeat and we were scanned and on the scan it showed up that she passed away. I was on my own.”
Myleene fought back tears as she said: “Nothing prepares you for the silence.”
Kirsty agreed and the pair held hands as they supported each other in grief.
Myleene got up to embrace the actress and said: “It’s so, so brave what you are doing because nobody likes to talk about dead babies. It’s one of those things you just brush under the carpet, it’s one of those things you feel uncomfortable with.”
Kirsty previously told how she gave birth to her daughter Penny-Leigh and was able to hold her and take her hand and foot prints before organising the funeral.
She told OK! Magazine: “I’m not the Kirsty I was before Penny-Leigh.
“My soul left for a little bit after Penny-Leigh. Everything flips upside down. You never get over it, you never forget. There’s always going to be a part of you that’s missing.”
In 2020, Kirsty-Leigh gave birth to her rainbow baby Nala Rai with partner Paul Barber.
